Life is precious and I think it is so easy to take for granted. I just watched a video that made me reflect about the fragility of life.  The video was made by a young man named Ben Breedlove who passed away on Christmas night due to a serious heart condition he battle with since birth. I’m always moved when a young person dies but perhaps what moves me more than his death is his life. In his 18 years on this earth he made a significant  impact on the lives of people around him through his positive attitude and actions. His two youtube channels, “BreedloveTV” and “OurAdvice4You” were designed to give relationship advice and share pieces of his life to help others.  After watching a few of his videos and reading about his life, I can see that he lived a life of service.  In a world were it’s common for people complain about inconsequential matters, it’s refreshing to see someone that  maintained a positive attitude despite the uncommon challenges he faced.

His last video was posted on Dec. 18th, 2011 titled, “This is my story.” Within a week of posting the video, he suffered a heart attack and died. The video moved me and is now inspiring many others to post videos in support of Ben’s memory. Kid Cudi, who is mentioned in Breedlove’s last video, released a message on his website.

“I broke down, I am to tears because I hate how life is so unfair. This has really touched my heart in a way I cant describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much… We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me.” To read the full post click here
