  Ben Breedlove

  Life is precious and I think it is so easy to take for granted. I just watched a video that made me reflect about the fragility of life.  The video was made by a young man named Ben Breedlove who passed away on Christmas night due to a serious heart condition he battle with since birth.   I’ve been struggling to write over the last several weeks. My writing is primarily blogs about news, my spiritual walk or self-expression pieces. Beyond that I have been preparing to submit some straight journalistic pieces for a new Black blogging site.   Good Courage? (LONG BLOG)

  On Sunday after church I read a familiar verse, Psalms 31. I’ve kept the that verse in my memory for a few years, but reading it this time around two words stood out- good courage. ‘Be of good courage’ is a common phrase throughout the Bible and for the first time I found myself asking why.
